Gotta admit. . .

This is a brilliant theory:

Spring Break Photos

We enjoyed a few days in St. George Island State Park in the Florida panhandle last week for spring break. Rainy and cold on Wednesday, but sunny and warm-ish the rest of the week. Click the links below for pics, but be warned there are around 800 of them, so if you are on facebook, you might prefer to see the 100 or so smaller file versions I put on there instead.

You might be a redneck if. . .

you've scheduled the birth of your first child around the date of The World's Longest Yard Sale.

(Sorry, Julio, couldn't resist)

Boys

So I got out of the bathtub to discover that while I was bathing my 5 year old had found a rerun football game on tv and was sitting in the living room chanting "Ole Miss! Ole Miss!" at the top of his lungs. First, it was weird because there is just something not natural about football at 10 am in March. Second, it was odd because my guys are all Vols fans, and I didn't know Noah was aware that Ole Miss existed. And why would he care that they win? So I walked in and casually asked, "Who's playing?"
"Ole Miss and Georgia."

The SEC rivalry instinct to root for anyone playing your adversary is learned early, eh?

Regional Wrap Up

Okay, so I didn't find time to update between matches. It was a tough night, but a good one.

Sam finished fourth, qualifying for state. He fought hard for the right to go to the State tournament, and I'm proud of him. The little kids don't have to qualify, so I will be taking Joseph to the Pee Wee State Tourney on Sat, just so he can have more mat time, wrestle against new/different kids, and see what a state competition looks like.

I'm not sure I remember everything perfectly (it was 11 pm and the last 30 minutes moved at lightning speed), but here are the ones I recall that will be going to State from Mighty Warriors or Chargerz Wrestling Clubs:
Addison Cornell took 1st in the 60lbs.
Andrew Fite took 4th (I think he forfeited his last match and went home because he was very sick), not sure of his weight class.
Sam Ibach took 4th in 75 lbs.
Nate Young took 4th in 85 lbs.

Just because I can

Since Jones Wrestling Center has a dandy wifi, thought I'd try to post updates as I have time. Addison made weight at 60, Sam was 2 pounds under for 75, which is good. Haven't seen the brackets yet, but there have been changes in every weight class. Lots of kids are cutting weight to try to wrestle below their normal weight class to make it to state. More to come if I find time between matches.
