Just for the record:
According to Wiktionary, the correct pronunciation of the city Cairns, Australia is /kenz/ ("cans")
I spoke with Amie this afternoon and they have arrived safely and are settled in Australia. She said the flight went better than she expected, as four of the kids slept well on the plane. Kate had a very difficult time due to an ear infection that was greatly exacerbated by the flight, and which made it physically impossible for her to get comfortable enough to sleep on the plane. She had a very rough time, and is exhausted from lack of sleep and feeling icky because of the ear. The other kids have battled extreme jet lag, and it is such a blessing that they will have this time in Australia to acclimate to the time difference before starting school in PNG. Krista has posted a few pics on her blog, and says that Australia is beautiful.
Please pray:
**for Kate's ear
**for the whole family's adjustment to the time change
**for the "details" that need to take place asap, such as getting their passports mailed back to the embassy so that their visas can be issued, etc.
Also, here is the URL to the website of the lodge where they are staying in Australia:

I have added a clock at the very bottom (scroll down. . .it's there, I promise!) of my blog which displays the current time in Port Moresby PNG, the closest city to where Amie and Charlie will be.
My sister, Amie, and her family will be leaving tomorrow for Papua New Guinea, where they will spend a year serving with Wycliffe as house parents for teens while their parents are in the field doing language surveys. Please pray for them, particularly in regard to the 16 hour or so flight they have to make with their five kids, ages 10 and under. For those of you who are interested in keeping up with them on their journey, you can check out Amie and Charlie's blog at www.charlieandamie.info
Krista and Chase also have email addresses and blogs now, and if you would like that information, send me an email (willa@steveandwilla.com) and I'll be happy to pass it on.
Becca emailed this to me and it's hilarious.
