Ephesians 2:14-22

For he is our peace, who has made the two into one, and by whom the middle wall of division has been broken down, Having in his flesh put an end to that which made the division between us, even the law with its rules and orders, so that he might make in himself, of the two, one new man, so making peace; And that the two might come into agreement with God in one body through the cross, so putting an end to that division. And he came preaching peace to you who were far off, and to those who were near; because through him the two of us are able to come near in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer as those who have no part or place in the kingdom of God, but you are numbered among the saints, and of the family of God, resting on the base of the Apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief keystone, In whom all the building, rightly joined together, comes to be a holy house of God in the Lord; In whom you, with the rest, are united together as a living-place of God in the Spirit.

martes

All is well in Mexico. The Lord has provided us with ideal weather, in that it has been cloudy and rainy in the mornings while we´re doing construction, but clear while we were at the beach and during VBS. We awoke to no running water, but it was back on in time for brief showers after construction. There has been a drought and Casa Hogar is running low on water. We seem to mastering the one minute shower though.
Sydney had a blast last night playing with Marco and hanging out with Marisol. One of the interns, Lisa, taught her to macrame, and she made herself an anklet she´s very proud of.
Many cuts and scrapes but nothing major. Ethan took a sledgehammer to the foot, but seems okay after icing it for a while. . .he went back to work. Ben (who previous members of missions trips will remember as member of Susan´s team, but he is now an intern) almost electricuted himself, but he´s okay. THose of you who know Ben will appreciate how funny it actually was once we knew he was okay. Lots of sore muscles, but the old library is basically gone. We tore down the last of it today to make room for new buildings. The boys, especially Sam, adore the guys from CAK.
Tomorrow is our day off, and Alejandro has given us permission to take Uriel and Jorge to spend the day with us at the beach, McD´s, and the market. We are so excited about the opportunity to spend time with just them again (as Stephen and I did in April). They had a great time looking at the new Mixteco books that we recieved Friday before we left. They are both still getting made fun of a lot, though. . .more at school than at Casa Hogar. Donna said that many of the kids use ´"indio" as an insult. . .instead of saying, "Don´t be an idiot", they say, "Don´t be such an indio(indian)".

Pray for rain, even though we would prefer to have nice weather at the beach tomorrow, we also really don´t want the Casa Hogar cisterns to run dry. We´ll be a really stinky crew coming home if that happens.
Also, please pray specifically for our health and the health of Susan´s team. Her team has been struggling with a stomach virus all week (they´re pretty certain it´s a virus for reasons I won´t go into due to time and space). Please pray that we all stay healthy, and that her team recovers. Also that everyone´s attitude regarding the food (everyone is paranoid because of the illness) will be one that reflects humility and love.

Gonna go so Sam can have a shot at blogging. Joseph and Noah, we love you and I am so proud of you for being good for Nana and Grandpa. Yesterday when we pulled the ceiling of the library down, about a billion roaches and scorpions came running out. I took a picture of one of each for you, Joseph. And also a lizard´s tail that got pulled off in the process. But we didn´t find the lizard. Speaking of, are Liz, Harry and Peyton doing okay?

hola de mexico

can´t seem to find the shift key on this keyboard.

anyway, we´re here in acapulco. we had a smooth though exhausting day of travel saturday. saturday evening, stephen, ethan, sam and i took uriel and bought him some new shoes for his birthday. he´s been going barefoot to church. enjoyed the time with him. sydney went for ice cream with all of her "big sisters". Oh, found the shift key.
Sunday we enjoyed worship and then spent the afternoon at the beach with the kids from casa hogar. we were a bit tired, though, since the power went out during the night and we had no ac or fans. no one slept well but the kids. The kids had a blast at the beach.
Had a good day of construction today. Monica got hit by a flying bucket and cut her chin, but all is okay now. The kids did great. Sydney carried empty buckets for people after they were dumped, made sure everyone had water and helped out in many other things. The boys helped tear down the library, which made them happy. Stephen and I chisled on a wall. We´ll begin VBS tonight. Pray for us. We´re doing ministry time a little different this year and I´m not sure how it´s going to go.

Okay. Promised Syd she could blog, too.
