What ever happened to Steve?

If you are a parent of young kids, you know Blues Clues. And if you are a parent of a kid older than 2, you remember Steve. Many of us who got on the Blues Clues bandwagon early were just as fascinated with the show’s host, Steve, as we were the show itself. And few of us in that category feel that the new host, Joe, can hold a candle to Steve. If you know the show, then you know what I mean. If you don’t, I can’t explain. Anyway, as Blues Clues aired on CBS this morning in its third format now where Blue talks in the form of a big puppet, I was lamenting about the good ole days of Blues Clues in its prime, and got to wondering what became of Steve. So I did what I always do when I wonder about stuff like that, I plugged Steve’s name into Google and found his website. I was so glad I did. I find Steve Burns’ real life character to be just as delightful as on Blues Clues, and his website kept me in stitches. I particularly enjoyed the “spoof” science report on whether or not Steve’s new rock/grunge album is appropriate for kids. It is well worth the read.

Steve is a member of a rock band, and I believe he may have left to pursue that.

Yes, I listened to clips from the album and was surprised to find that I really liked it. I was also pleased to discover that he has the Thinking Chair in his bedroom. I was happy to know that Steve didn't leave BC because he was unhappy and looks back at that period of his life with great fondness. It was just time to move on. He'd been talking to kids in front of a blue screen for six years. He wanted to make sure he remembered how to be an adult. I can understand that.

Can't comment on the relevant post - get a URL Error- but 1)I think you've got the looks to be a sexy gramma (though I'm gonna talk your grandkids into calling you either Big Mama or Memaw). 2)You know it's the attitude and confidence that makes sexy more than the looks.

Lynn, the comment problems may be related to the ones we were having a week or two ago when some guy messed up everybody's blog comments trying to customize his (not that I'm criticizing. . .I haven't tried to customize cause that's exactly what would happen if I did).
I plan on my grandkids calling me Imma (pron eema). It's Hebrew for mother.

Plan all you want, sistuh, but realize I plan on influencing all I can. . .

Keep in mind that my children are older than yours, and it's highly likely that you will become a grandmother after I will, meaning payback will follow...Granny.

I remember when my kid saw that Steve left and that Joe took over the show, she wasn't too happy about that. What really disappoints me is that he went into rehab, what a shame for him. Well i guess that how all stars turn out these days...drugs and rehab...

Steve being in a rock band is way more awesome than being on blues clues. Miss you any way though.
