So I watched NCIS tonight, which I blogged about last week. I enjoyed it okay. It's not Alias, but entertaining. But while watching, I saw commercials for another show, 3 lbs. I have always had a fascination with the study and operations of the brain. I think the human brain is one of the most interesting, amazing creations God shared with us. It is such an incredible blend of physical, emotional, psychological and inexplicable elements. So my fascination with brains immediately piqued my curiosity with a show called 3 lbs, which is how much a brain weighs. It was a very interesting show. I'll have to watch a few more eps to see if it's really good, or if I'm just excited at the concept. The idea of a show all about brains is highly appealing to me, though I fear there may not be a lot of us who fall into that category. We'll see.
After watching the show, I decided to look up some of the info referred to in the show, and of course came across several of those right brain/left brain quizzes. I find it interesting that as silly as these questions seem, I have taken about 10 of them over the past couple of years, and all of them have given me exactly the same result. Must be something to it, I suppose. Here are tonight's results. The biggest difference I've ever scored was 48%/52%.
***You Are 50% Left Brained, 50% Right Brained***
The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.
Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.
If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.
Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.
The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.
Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.
If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.
Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.

Who would have ever thought that you were that balanced? No senility in your future...you use all your brain. :) If I take it carefully and think about the answers, then I lean to the right slightly...about 45/55. However, when I just blazed through it I was 25/75. Perhaps 35/65 is more indicative of the way my mind works? Maybe I should wait and take it after a good night's sleep...

It's funny, at times I've taken the tests, and thought for sure I was answering them more biased to one direction than the other, or thought for sure I was answering them opposite of how I answered similar question on a different test. But the results end up the same. I'm not sure if the right word is balanced, or confused. :) The funny thing is that I always get frustrated because most of the tests have only two options for answers. I always want to add a third answer. Sometimes, yes, sometimes, no, e.g. Or, "it depends on the situation". Just sitting on the fence, I guess.

Posted by: tammy at Noviembre 23, 2006 09:12 PMHave you continued to watch? I've been watching too, although I didn't read this until a few days ago. I think I like it, but something's not right. I didn't finish the latest episode, so I'm not 100% sure this is true. Does everyone live every time? If so, that's boring.
