Nachooooo

Joseph as Nacho

So Joseph lost his head. His Henry the Octopus head. The other kids were dressed and waiting on the front porch to go trick or treating when Joseph discovered that he had misplaced this vital part of his costume. *read total meltdown pending* After almost 20 minutes of looking, we found it nowhere. I finally said, "Joseph, I think you are just going to have to put on the hat and go without the head." I was expecting tears, but he said, "Well, could I just go as a luchador instead?"
I'm not sure which was more surprising to me, the fact that he didn't fall apart over the missing head, or the fact that he used the word "luchador" as casually as if it were a normal part of everyone's daily vocabulary.

Some quick thinking, a raid to the "costume box" in the attic, and five minutes later, Nacho Libre emerged. He was quite the hit around the neighborhood, and I was surprised at how many people immediately recognized him. He also said, "Gracias" to everyone when he got candy instead of "thank you." He was pumped.

Lynn, if you haven't seen Nacho Libre, see it. You will enjoy it. My favorite line, to whet your appetite:
(read in fake Mexican accent) "Chacho, sometimes, when you are a man, you wear stretchy pants. . .when you are alone in your room. . .just for fun."
And of special interest to us, it was filmed in Oaxaca, where Stephen grew up and we took the older boys to visit two summers ago. It was fun to try to recognize the scenery.

I love that little boy. Remember when he thought he looked exactly like Micheal Jordon? I believe he said it was particularly the armpits.

Let's face it, Joseph looks good dressed up in anything! He's just adorable. ACTUALLY they all 13 fit into that category!

Specifically, the HAIRY armpits. He used to stick his stuffed SImbas under his arms so that he would look like he had hairy armpits, which further enhanced his resemblance to MJ.
