Linguistic Profile

Just got back from Mexico at 2:15 this morning. Stephen and I spent the weekend there for a Project Orientation Trip in preparation for our Mission Trip to Acapulco in July. I'll do a lot more blogging on that later. But for now I decided to catch up on a few blogs and discovered the linguistic profile quiz linked on my brother-in-law's blog. Those of you who know me know that I am obsessed with language. I am often told that I don't really sound like I was born and raised in the south, which is the way I prefer it. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the 30%, but I guess it's not too bad for living here all my life.

Your Linguistic Profile:

60% General American English

30% Dixie

5% Upper Midwestern

5% Yankee

0% Midwestern

Willa,

I have to agree about not wanting to sound Southern. I am surprised that I had a 10% Upper Midwestern

Bert, I'm sad that you didn't take the poll on your own family member's blog...and I even posted mine several days prior ;)

Scott, maybe if you got your hair corn rowed Bert would spend more time on your blog.

Hon, I'm a little sad that your Dixie is less than mine when you lived in Lookout Valley for so many years. :( It's pretty interesting to see how much your dad's yankee roots affected your vocabulary.
